I don't see anywhere the Ockham's Razor explanation that bad candidates fudge their resumes in order to make themselves look like good candidates.
- itsdrewmiller 12y agoI don't think the article posits a cause for why resumes are useless - just argues that they are useless. Your guess about why is definitely a reasonable option. From a hiring manager's perspective, it doesn't matter all that much.
- pekk 12y agoI think it's even simpler just to observe that the way someone chooses to write and target a resume has no particular relationship to how well they would do the job.
