I liked the writing and even agreed with some of it, having met Bintang guy. Couldn't stop one thing jumping out at me though: this guy is basically railing against travel becoming more affordable and approachable so that it is no longer the pursuit of the elite and stubbornly adventurous. I guess that's annoying in some ways as you run into the people from home that you're trying to escape by travelling to foreign destinations. Haughty elitism aside though, more people experiencing more of the world doesn't strike me as a bad thing.
