The question you are asking is like"How do I build a house?" It's too broad. Instead ask, "how do I pour a foundation?" or "How do I frame a wall?" Figure out how to setup a database. Figure out how to execute queries between database and application. Figure out how to write a login form. Build up from there, one small piece at a time.
- bnb 12y agoThanks for this. I think this is a large part of my problem. I don't know how to do fundamental things, such as set up an index route with Express, or how to use a templating engine with that to display dynamic text, or how to use a database to store that dynamic text. I think your comment is a more direct way of saying what a lot of people have said: Break it down into smaller problems. You can go through each smaller problem and solve it, then move on to the next, until you're done. Once there, you'll have learned how to program. Or I should say, I will have.
