Ask HN: How do you go about buying books?
I've recently been purchasing a large number of books, for me, and have been going through the process of finding the lowest price in a reasonable amount of time.
I was wondering if others have a process, rather than just going to Amazon, for buying books.
- yan 17y agoI add them to my Amazon wishlist to keep track of what I am intending to buy, then usually check half.com or ebay. If you frequent used book stores, they sometimes have good deals. I also sometimes order books for my Kindle, but that's suboptimal since I like physical books.
- arfrank 17y agoMy process as of late has to use a site called bigwords.com. It is a comparison engine for a bunch of the online book sellers, but it doesn't allow you to keep any data stored with them so its not really useful except for the final buying process.
