To the top of your ~/.xinitrc file. Kind of surprised PC-BSD doesn't do that for you. Probably should ask them to.
- morganvachon 12y agoSurprisingly, PC-BSD doesn't generate a ~/.xinitrc file, I had to create one. I just put that line in mine, and restarted X. Seems to be working well, I loaded up a 4K image in Firefox with no stuttering, pausing, or other noticeable problems, and it definitely slowed the system to a crawl before making the change. Thanks!
- tedunangst 12y agoIIRC that would sometimes lead to weird glitches like images with repeating static patterns, though perhaps those bugs have been fixed as well.
- byuu 12y agoMight have in the past, I have yet to see any rendering glitches from it. Now, some of the about:config options that were proposed as alternate workarounds definitely caused very weird rendering glitches, but this one seems mostly side-effect free.
- tedunangst 12y agoYou're right. I was thinking of gfx xrender.
- mveety 12y agoBug still exists, but only shows up in fewer cases now.
