We are in the midst of a record breaking bubble where billion dollar valuations are getting handed out left and right & everyone is dumping money into app development. Many people are seeking custom solutions, and don't care what language it is developed in. I've had several web app projects this year that just needed to work. If someone wanted to use PHP, Python, or Ruby it wouldn't matter as long as it was operable and functioned correctly with the front end.
