I don't think it's hyperbolic; many of the dispensaries (the larger ones, yes) in Seattle, not even SF/BC, have well near 100+ strains. While I certainly can echo your concern about "success means your customers leave you" there's certainly a draw to variety, and similar services (get random fruit delivered to your door each month) have managed to find a market segment, so I look forward to seeing if this pans out.
