Google is aggressive in recruiting; I still get emails from Google[1] asking if I'm willing to relocate yet (I'm not). If small companies want good people, they're going to have to dedicate some time and effort towards getting those people. I've lost three very good techies to Micron recently. Good talent is out there, you just have to know where to look. [1] - I'm not bragging or anything; I was declined an offer after my onsite visit, but that was also three years ago.
