I hate to be pedantic, but I think the phrase you're looking for is "golden handcuffs"
- nandemo 12y agoIt's not even pedantic. Golden parachute: you're forced out (by a lay-off or takeover) but they're obligated to give you a pile of money. Golden handcuffs: you volunteer for corporate servitude (by being acquired) in exchange for a big pile of money.
