I occasionally need to turn wifi off and on again, so I wrote a script to do it: https://gist.github.com/DarwinAwardWinner/d2f2b97540e8c3ff733d https://gist.github.com/DarwinAwardWinner/d2f2b97540e8c3ff73... Open that in Script Editor and then export is as an application. Then just run that application whenever your wifi stops working for no reason.

Same issue, I ended up blowing away the network plists and letting the OS regenerate them and that fixed it for me.
