Taking your Site from One to One Million Users by Kevin Rose [video]
- jonknee 17y agoLie about it not being yours on national TV?
- zaidf 17y agoTo be fair, he does start with "down and dirty ways."
- mikeryan 17y agoHey he had a platform and he used it. I'm not sure he lied about it but he definitely made it seem like something he had stumbled upon as opposed to something he built. (slight aside, I worked at TechTV when Kevin Launched digg)
- Timothee 17y agoI agree that I always thought that him presenting Digg on a TV show without a disclaimer that it was his, was kind of shady. But, I suppose I would put it under his "hack the press" section. It's not much different than knowing influential people to talk about your product. And, in the end, an initial boost is never enough to be successful if you don't have a good product.
- pxlpshr 17y agoIf I was trying to disrupt the media industry, I would probably keep it a secret for awhile too.
- yesimahuman 17y agoIs it just me or is the audio only on the left channel?
- Timothee 17y agoIt is. The final interview is stereo and you can feel the difference.
- Timothee 17y agoI feel that Kevin Rose has a mixed-reputation in some circles. But I thought his advice was interesting and he has some good credentials in terms of building community-centered sites (Digg, Revision3, WeFollow (Pownce, not so much)), that can't be denied.
- ojbyrne 17y agoI haven't watched the video yet, but I'm sure he didn't mention one thing I did. I answered all the support emails, and I tried to personalize every one of them with a joke or something. And put my real name and email.
