"Nobody is forced to do anything" is a very lame argument, because it is quite obvious that systemd is effectively being forced on the Linux world, because it has become a dependency of Gnome. Other distributions besides Red Hat will make their life very difficult if they don't implement systemd as well, so yes, practically, systemd is being forced upon Linux users. You could of course continue the argument by saying that nobody is forced to use Linux, or even a computer, but it gets silly.
