The process to open source .NET would have almost certainly started before Nadella became CEO.
There's no way they decided to release the source and have it ready within 9 months.
- glibgil 12y agoThere is a way. Their source may have been well organized and license problems known already.
- lxcp 12y agoThat might not be true at all. Open sourcing something like .NET is not trivial but it certainly is not a 9 month job. It could well be started within Satya's time.
- umurkontaci 12y agoSatya was holding the head of Cloud & Enterprise division, which has .NET and Developer Division within. He may have been preparing/planning for this long before he was appointed as well.
