- rtpg 12y agowondering about this very thing recently; does Obama have the capacity to fire him? I've never really gotten what 'independent' means in this sort of situation
- georgemcbay 12y agoHe can't fire any of the FCC commissioners, but he could promote one of the other ones as chairman over Wheeler, in theory. It would probably turn into a pretty big political shitshow if he did though considering how the Republicans have deluded themselves into thinking they have a "clear mandate" (which seems to primarily involve wanting the opposite of whatever Obama wants, regardless of what that is).
