In what way is Germany more safe? Pretty ridiculous. But if you consider TAZ to be radical ha ha humm... See: Vorratsdatenspeicherung, TED Talk by Malte Spitz, George Maaßen. Laws don't apply here to the intelligence apparatus either.

At least the supreme court overturned Vorratsdatenspeicherung in its former form. Hopefully the Pirateparty will manage to pull itself together and be a good oppositional force in parliament one day.
