When did it not? I've been interviewing people for the past few weeks asking them about their stack and they all invariably say at one point "running on (aws|heroku|azure)". The [PaaS wiki entry](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_as_a_service http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_as_a_service) itself says it's providing a "solution stack" as a service.
