Reminds me of the Oprah Winfrey story some time ago. She tried to buy a luxury handbag in a shop in Switzerland (Winfrey is hardly known in Europe, BTW). The shop assistant treated her badly and Winfrey interpreted it as racist. It turned out that shop assistants there treat all customers badly 'irrespective of the person'.
