What about the Native American societies, which tracked heritage matrilineally? If we looked hard enough we ought to find some matriarchies somewhere.
- barry-cotter 12y agoThere aren't any. Anthropologists have been all over this. There are degrees of egalitarianism and obviously there are unambiguous patriarchies. No one's ever found a matriarchy, or evidence of one existing.
