In my experience, if you work for a startup where you enjoy your work, and the startup gets acquired, chances are your work will start sucking within the year. This is both because the culture will change very fast (except in rare cases) and almost always the type of people who enjoy working for startups find it very hard to enjoy working for BigCos.
