Automation and massive amounts of available resources are primarily responsible for my idle time at work - once you build a reliable infrastructure, with automatic setup and failover configurations, running on machines that are basically 90% idle outside of peak hours, what exactly are you supposed to do?
- b_emery 12y agoThis ideal situation won't last forever. Figure out what is next, and start training for it. (Otherwise you become one of the old admins clinging to your way of doing things, and slowly becoming obsolete).
- jqm 12y agoAgreed 100%. Always expect that sooner or later there will be a housecleaning, and if keep current you will be prepared.
- Roboprog 12y agoMake sure there's a code for that activity on your weekly TPS report!
