- M2Ys4U 12y agoSadly, it's not limited to the US. I was (briefly) a landlord when I purchased my house and the tenants that moved in were ridiculous. These were 19 year old university students who would get one of their mothers to contact me to complain, rather than contacting me directly. One of the complaints was that the house came furnished with the wrong kind of chair (apparently she thought that students renting privately were "entitled to a suitable chair [that] should swivel"), noting that I should just buy new ones because it's "not really worth falling out over" and if I didn't they'd just deduct the cost of new ones from the rent.
