This might be an attempt to use existing means to pressure mobile device manufacturers from enabling full device encryption by default. I know the executive branch hasn't been too happy with the latest announcements from Google and Apple.
- maxerickson 12y agoI would speculate they did something closer to providing source code to Chinese defense contractors. (Which probably doesn't really matter in the scheme things, but it's the sort of thing that will really piss off the U.S. Government)
