In an earlier video blow mentions that he wants to use this language to develop AAA level game engines and run on consoles. Even games which use a higher level language for some functionality usually have engines written in much lower level, non GC languages (usually C++). Parallelism is a complicated topic and he will probably dedicate a video to that later.
