>Go Fuck Yourself
Lost a ton of people right there, highly unprofessional if this is the website you are showing to recruiters or hiring managers.
- mac-r 12y agoI am not hunting for recruiters, Igglyboo. When there is a thought to write something, it's never about what recruiters would think.
- possibilistic 12y agoWhat kind of job are you looking for right now?
- ankurpatel 12y agoTo do any kind of business or work with people you need to build trust. With blog titles like these someone will lose interest as it portrays you as unprofessional and someone hard to trust.
- mac-r 12y agoI am looking for an opportunity to continue working on my own product. It looks a way better idea to work part time rather than to dilute my equity share just because of money. I want to find hardworking teammates first and then conquer the world with VC. Until that moment I am thinking about sharing my knowledge and applying my skills somewhere on part time basis.
- possibilistic 12y agoYeah, you have to change this right away. It's unfortunate that you have to white wash your appearance, but you have to realize that any negative signal will be interpreted by HR. Sometimes it's actually a pretty good filter regarding personality. In any case, the rest of your profile/resume looks slick. Good luck!
- the_real_bto 12y agoAssuming he isn't desperate for a job, isn't it better for him to be himself? Then at his job, he could be confident being himself. I read the 'Go Fuck Yourself' post and became more interested in him. If I were looking to hire a software person, I would investigate to see if he is a match.
- tjbiddle 12y agoI disagree. I think this falls under the realm of "I don't want to work with people who disagree with who I am as a person." - I see that argument tossed around by people who may have tattoos, crazy hair, piercings, etc. Sure - if you're having a tough time finding a job, you will need to make sacrifices; but for some people that isn't worth it. Max may want to show who he is as a person and not compromise. Also - if you read the article, it's actually quite humorous.
- mrpoptart 12y agoIt's only the title that's the problem. You're going to work in a professional place, that means you have to be a professional. Any company is taking a risk by hiring you, and the risk that you're the kind of person who would tattoo "Go Fuck Yourself" as the highest priority item on your website is worrisome. Consider the title "GFY" instead. It's a little less grating and a shows you're capable of being professional when dealing with sensitive subjects.
- exit 12y agoblah, maybe if he's looking for client facing sales/marketing/hr jobs. he's not. i think it's authentic and filters out places you shouldn't want to work any way.
