The really great idea is the portable low cost steno keyboard, maybe backed by a Raspberry Pi. Just plug it in and you'd get your own customised input system with all your personal configurations and dictionaries and what not. Also since it's phonetic, I'd imagine it'd work great with Chinese in Pinyin mode.
