I tried a "\begin{equation}" pair to get a numbered equation and nothing happened. I would say "Markdown editor with latex inline equations" instead of calling this a latex editor - the most basic latex syntax doesn't seem to work! (also: Isn't $$ an out-of-line equation, rather than a \displaystyle-sized inline)
