I went down the same path when Ubuntu's appearance suddenly made Debian look slow and outdated. Now I have been back on Debian for a few years and it just feels better - Debian has come a long way... I believe that Ubuntu's mere existence gave it a good jolt !
- davidw 12y agoYeah, a better release schedule helps. I recall Debian servers from 'back in the day' where you'd start accumulating all this stuff from unstable because you started needing something that wasn't 4 years old, and then it would have dependencies, and so on. It could get a bit messy.
