All the journalist hand-wringing over the Guardian is exactly how we get the milquetoast reporting we do these days. I understand why someone wouldn't want to burn bridges, but when their strategy for protecting access preempts any reporting ever, they cease to be performing any journalistic function. They're just hangers-on.
