I was addicted to Diet Coke in the US (it was the only soft drink i enjoyed). Recently I moved to Thailand, and they do not carry Diet Coke but it turns out the satisfying feeling i was having was directly related to the high level of carbonation. I now have switched to drinking carbonated water.
