Solve these six equations:
Farmer 1:
35 = x*a + y*b
a + b = 10
Farmer 2:
35 = x*c + y*d
c + d = 16
Farmer 3:
35 = x*e + x*f
e + f = 26
If we assume they sold the same amount of chickens before lunch as the price was the same, then a = c = e. This reduces it to 6 equations for 6 variables.
