I keep encountering this line of reasoning: 1. Almost everyone refuses to vote. 2. The establishment loses legitimacy. 3. ... ? 4. Profit. What's step 3? My guess would be a lot of turmoil, and if civil society remains as apathetic as they are now, the replacement won't be any better.
