I think JavaScript's here to stay, which is why I've specialised a little in it recently. However, I also think that there are lots of programming concepts that are moving from other languages towards it. It's worth exploring a few other languages to just get a greater feel of the future, and to also protect against the chance that JavaScript loses its ground.
