I'm 2nd in experience @ my dayjob, lead programmer is a step away. I also know that the division head is a bit worn and really wants to step down. I would like either one of those jobs but I would rather take the seat on the management board to be honest for the influence it would give me. Writing good software starts with a business decision and the Suits people are notoriously bad at making good calls in that department.
