Scandinavian societies are far less sexist than the rest of europe and the US. The need for a specific, targeted law is less important.
In law, the government can either follow a trend, or change the status quo.
In this case, changing the status quo and forcing the fathers to take some responsabilities of mothers is the only way. A sexist society doesn't change by itself because the men in power doesn't want it to.
- snogglethorpe 12y agoMaybe Scandinavian government policies are less sexist, but people I've known who've worked in Sweden have told me that Swedish society still seems to be fairly sexist (despite Sweden's progressive reputation)...
