One of many lessons I learned from this overwhelming surge of feedback in such a short period was about how quickly I gave into my instinct to defend myself. Instead of using excuses to justify my mistakes and moral shortcomings, I really should have put more effort into reflecting on the comments that were tough to read. I need to do that better in the future. I am grateful for all of the perspectives everyone has expressed. It's been a great learning experience, and I've become aware of more of my faults that I can now consciously work to improve.
