The Telegraph (UK newspaper) is running a story on a Snapchat hack where "this time, the hackers haven’t gone after celebrities: they’ve targeted ordinary people - many of who are children".
To illustrate the story, they've used a stock photo (no model release acquired) of a "hacker". The hacker happens to be Matt Lee, long-time FSF and GNU activist.
The photo has been used in incongruous settings before: see
http://mattl.us/super-hacker/ http://mattl.us/super-hacker/ . But this is the first time it's been used for a genuinely libellous purpose. As of yet, eight hours after the story went live, the Telegraph and its journalists have failed to respond to appeals to take the pic down.
[update:] finally, they changed it. It's now showing a generic screenshot pic. Fairly unbelievable that it would even get that far.
