Interestingly this weekend at Cingleton, Rich Siegel announced that BBEdit was leaving the Mac App store... not for any one technical issue with it but for "sanity". Essentially, the app store dynamics add stress to the process of shipping mac software for most developers and they add this stress at the end of the release cycle when a developer is already at their most tense moment. Having deployed many products on Apple's stores, I can say that I completely relate to this and so did the crowd at Cingleton. I expect many other apps to follow suit...
