Always occurred odd to me how in NA it's taboo to ask your salary. In New Zealand you could ask that same question of someone you just met, and they'd tell you most of the time. People who earn ridiculous amount might feel awkward revealing it, however for the most part people have no issue. And if anyone brings it up as "ammo" in a conversation, well you're quickly called a dick and you move on.
