Speaking of Nexus 5... It is the only phone I've ever owned that has shattered. It was in the LG QuickCover case and fell from a height of about 15 inches. As it fell the case opened (as if it was designed to do this) and it appeared to hit the bottom right corner (which is covered by the case) followed by the front glass (uncovered). The crack started in the bottom left corner and covers about 1/3 of the phone.
