I just wanted to say, "Thanks!" I successfully patched my 8.04 server and passed the test. I used sudo ./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/bin --sbindir=/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc && sudo make && sudo make install after retrieving and patching the bash build files.
