When comparing security warning from RedHat https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1207723 https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1207723 vs Ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2362-1/ http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2362-1/ the RedHat one wants you to run /sbin/ldconfig or reboot your machine. Why Ubuntu does not recommend this? They do ldconfig automatically?

- AgentME 12y agoThe vulnerability only exists during the startup of a bash process. Updating bash is enough. Bash processes that are already running are past the point where they could be exploited. Future calls to bash will get the updated version. No services need to be restarted to apply the fix.
