The last time I worked on Android (which was about 6-12 months ago) I tried to get the x86 image working on my laptop, but it apparently requires an intel processor[1]. Do you happen to be aware of any speedups for AMD processors?

- mappu 12y ago>The software requires an Intel CPU with Virtualization Technology (VT) support Surely by "Intel" they mean "x86-compatible"? Many AMD cpus have the necessary VT-x, you shouldn't have any trouble here.
- Veratyr 12y agoAMD processors don't have VT-x, it's an Intel specific feature. AMD has their own equivalent, called AMD-V. You can have a look at one of their top CPUs if you're in doubt: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/server/opteron/6000/6300 http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/server/opteron/6000/6300 When they say Intel they mean Intel unfortunately.
- dozy 12y agoTry out Genymotion, I think that's your best bet for AMD.
- 0x0 12y agoIt looks like they are using KVM to accelerate in the linux sdk, maybe that will work on amd?
- andor 12y agoYes, KVM acceleration works fine with AMD processors.
