It might be expensive, but you could make the entire prison a Faraday cage (although not sure how that would work if people are allowed to go outdoors).

- vonmoltke 12y agoYeah, you could basically TEMPEST-harden the whole building. That would significantly increase the cost of building prisons, though.
- pan69 12y agoIndeed. This doesn't leave an awful lot of room for profit. A prison is supposed to be a profitable business, what do people think this is? A service to society?
- venus 12y agoYou reckon? It's basically surrounding the thing with chicken wire. How expensive could that possibly be? Expense can't be the reason. Maybe the reason they don't do that is because the guards want their phones to work.
