I don't think it's marketers. One person makes a negative post about it and gets to the front page so other people think "I know, I'll also make a negative post and get to the front page and get a ton of karma." And everyone upvotes people who confirm their own opinions. Now because of the reputation, anyone who is going to talk to Comcast will record the call, just in case. And the people who do have the call go bad will quick post it to reddit to get popular.
