I know I sound like a broken record saying this.
But Stallman was right.
The idea that users don't own and control, what they perceive to own and control scares them on a very primordial level.
- hadoukenio 12y agoThis is why I try and explain over and over again that there is no such thing as strong security on a mobile when Apple and Google can remotely modify your phone. If you're running any sort of password manager on a phone, how hard do you think it would be for Apple+Google to take a copy of the encrypted file along with your captured password. Imagine the complete access the US government has on foreign nationals who are high up in the echelons of their own governments. Stallman was more than right. He was a god damn prophet.
