I don't see why the face wouldn't be reversible - it detaches completely from the strap, and it's not like the software UI is going to be upside down - your phone can already handle that. The only difference will be that the crown is below the button.
- fudged71 12y agoNFC might also be tricky. It looked like you use the top/front of the watch to pay. I'm not sure if this would work in reverse.
- nchlswu 12y agodon't most nfc implementations use a coil of wires that are some minimum physical size? I imagine the coil is the size of the watch (horizontally)
- wlesieutre 12y agoAgreed, it just seems like something that Apple ought to mention. Can't find it anywhere on their website. And orientation changing makes sense for a phone feature because people switch between portrait and landscape, while this is a permanent setting that 90% of people would never touch. It'd be a giant oversight for Apple though, and I'd be surprised if nobody on their design team is left handed.
- yaeger 12y agoYes, I would have also thought that since this was a presentation to the general consumer and not just a tech demo ala WWDC where these things don't matter yet, that they would have addressed this issue by showing a person taking the watch from one wrist and putting it on the other and thus showing the device can be turned around and used just like before.
