Culturally there is actually a great similarity between Scotland and much of England. One of the weaknesses of the No campaign in my view is that they've failed to draw on the massive similarities between Scotland the the industrial north of England. The differences between London and Scotland are significant, but the same differences exist between London and much of the North of England.
