I'm very pleased to see Omniref write this article, as I wanted to write the same article myself after my experience porting my extension from Chrome. Everything they complain about is true - the Firefox Add-on SDK is a pain, and the approvals process is a pain. The only thing this article leaves out is how much of a royal pain Mozilla's Add-on documentation is. It doesn't help that ten years of changes to the extension workflow mean there's a whole lot of jargon to absorb (Bootstrapped extensions? Jetpack? XUL?). If I release further updates to my Chrome extension, I'm not sure I'll bother with Firefox.
