This is perhaps the wrong place to discuss, but reading Noah's piece you just linked seems just a little narrow-minded... Given the struggles I see to recruit and retain contributors (who overwhelmingly $work to 17:30 and take school holidays), I'm left wondering truly how many open source projects (maybe the top 0.00001%?) can really afford to (let alone actively engage in) building their existence around these pathologies.
