What if we called it ANSI Markdown instead? Read the foreword to http://flash-gordon.me.uk/ansi.c.txt http://flash-gordon.me.uk/ansi.c.txt , and it sounds very similar to the Markdown issue. C is still called C, regardless of what ANSI (and later ISO) did to it.
